You can add a part-based pressure network to a profile view by creating an alignment from the pressure network and then creating a profile from that alignment. Path-based pressure networks use their pipe runs as alignments. You can also add pressure network parts that exist in plan view to an existing profile view.
After you add parts from plan to profile, if you subsequently create new parts in plan view, you need to add those parts to the profile.
However, new parts created in profile view are created in the model (so they are automatically visible in plan view also). Editing a part in either view edits the model so the change is carried through to both views.
To create an alignment from a part-based pressure network and add the pressure network to a profile at the same time
When you click OK, the Create Profile From Surface dialog box is displayed. Add the desired surface to the Profile list and then click Draw In Profile View
.
In the Create Profile View wizard, on the Pipe Network Display page, verify that the pressure network parts that you want to add to the profile view are selected.
Click Create Profile View and select an insertion point in the drawing.
To add one or more pressure network parts to an existing profile view
Select one or more pressure network parts in plan view that you want to add to profile view. The Pressure Network Plan Layout contextual ribbon tab is displayed.
On the Profile panel, click Draw Parts in Profile ViewFind.
Note: A profile and profile view must exist in the drawing in order to use this command.
Note:
Path-based pressure network pipe run profiles are not editable when they are in a profile view whose associated alignment is not the pipe run alignment.
Select the profile view to which to add the pressure network parts.
