You can extend the geometry of fixed and floating profile elements within a profile view. Extensions are added to the ends of the selected profile element to which elements are not already attached.
When a fixed straight or curve is extended, extensions are created on both ends of the element if no other elements are attached to the ends. If an element is already attached to the end of a fixed straight or curve, an extension is not created at that end.
When a floating straight or curve is extended, an extension is created on the floating end of the element if no other elements are attached to that end. If an element is already attached to the floating end of a floating straight or curve, an extension is not created.
Note: Extensions are not supported for free straights or curves because both ends of free elements are connected to other elements.
If there is no grid padding specified in the profile view style, the elements are extended to the extents of the profile view. If grid padding is specified in the profile view style, the elements are extended to the edge of the grid padding rather than to the extents of the profile view.
Click the profile. Click Profile tabModify Profile panelGeometry EditorFind.
Note: You can control the appearance of the extensions by modifying the Line Extensions and Parabolic Curve Extensions component display options on the Display tab of the Profile Style dialog box.
