About Creating Points at the Geometry Points of Alignments

You can use the At Alignment Geometry command to create a point at every geometry point on an alignment.

Geometry points are points of curvature (PC), tangent points (TP), transition-curves (TC), curve-transitions (CS), straight transitions (ST), transition-straights (TS), and intersection points (IP).

When creating points using this command, you are not prompted for a description if the Prompt For Descriptions Points Creation setting is set to Automatic-Object. The raw and full description for the point is automatically assigned based on the type of point created. The assigned description displays in the drawing if the current point label style contains a raw description or a full description text component.

The following table describes alignment vertex labels that are created and the description that is assigned based on the point type:

Created Label

Definition

BOA

Beginning of Alignment

IP

Intersection Point

CIP

Curve Intersection Point

TP

Tangent Point

PC

Point of Curvature

TIP

Transition Intersection Point

ST

Straight-Transition intersection

CS

Curve-Transition intersection

ST

Transition-Straight intersection

CC

Curve Center or radius point

EOA

Point settings, styles, layers, point groups, and description keys can all affect how a point is created or how it is displayed in the drawing.
