Create a user point database format for importing or exporting .mdb files that contain point data.
When you create a user point database format, you specify both the information included in the .mdb file and the order in which it is included. If the file has multiple tables, you specify the name of the table from which you want to import data or to which you want to export data.
As you create a point database format, you can view a sample point database for reference.
- In Toolspace, on the Settings tab, right-click the Point File Formats.
- In the Point File Formats - Select Format Type dialog box, click User Point Database and click OK.
- In the User Point Database Format dialog box, specify a name for the format.
- Click Load to load the Microsoft® Access file that you want the new format to match, so that you can refer to it as you create the format.
- Specify a table name if required.
- Optionally, specify a coordinate zone transform.
- Click a column name heading that is labeled <unused>.
- In the Point File Formats - Select Column Name dialog box, select a column name from the Column Name list. Specify other parameters as needed, and click OK.
- Repeat the previous step for each column in the user point database format.
- Click OK.
