The Isolate tool temporarily hides all objects except those you're working on.
Isolating a selection guards against selecting other objects while working on a single selection. You can focus on the objects you need to see without the visual distraction of the surroundings. It also reduces the performance overhead that can come from displaying other objects in the viewports.
While the Isolate tool is active, the Isolate Selection Toggle button on the status bar appears pressed in: . To exit Isolate Selection mode, click this button or apply the command using any other method detailed at the start of this topic.
When using the Alt menu system, the following commands are available from the Isolate panel of the Scene menu:
