The Physical Material's Advanced Reflectance Parameters rollout allows you to select whether to drive the angle-dependent reflectance based on the material's IOR or a custom curve.
The Advanced Reflectance Parameters rollout is only available in Advanced mode.
Interface
- By IOR
- The angle-dependent reflectance is based on the Fresnel equation based on the material's Index of Refraction. This is the most physically plausible method.
- Custom Curve
- The angle-dependent reflectance is based on a manually created custom curve. It is not as plausible physically, but provides greater control.
- Facing
- The curve's lowest point; the reflectivity at facing angles.
- Edge
- The curve's highest point; the reflectivity at grazing angles.
- Slope
- The curve's slope.
