The rollouts used for the Sun Positioner contain settings for customizing your sunlight system.
Interface
Display rollout
Compass Rose group
- Show
- Toggles displaying the compass rose in the viewports.
- Radius
- The radius of the compass rose, as displayed in the viewport.
- North Offset
- Rotates the compass rose, changing the cardinal direction used for positioning the sun according to date and time.
Sun group
- Distance
- The distance of the sun from the compass rose, as displayed in the viewports.
Sun Position rollout
- Install Sun & Sky Environment
- Replaces the current Environment map with the Physical Sun & Sky Environment.
Date & Time group
- Date, Time, Location
- Position the sun according to date, time and location information.
- Weather Data File
- Use weather data to position the sun and define sky illumination.
- Setup
- Opens the Configure Weather Data dialog.
- Manual
- Manually position the sun by translation/rotation or by azimuth/altitude.
Date & Time group
- Time
- The time of day in hours and minutes.
- Day - Month - Year
- The day, month, and year.
- Daylight Savings Time
- Toggles using daylight savings time.
- Use Date Range
- Sets a range of consecutive days to be used, defined by specified start and end dates.
Location on Earth group
- Location
- Set the location from a user-configurable database. The default location is San Francisco, California, U.S.A.
- Latitude
- The location's latitude coordinates.
- Longitude
- The location's longitude coordinates.
- Time Zone
- The time zone, as offset from GMT.
Horizontal Coordinates group
- Azimuth
- Azimuth of the sun in the sky, relative to the North direction.
- Altitude
- Altitude of the sun in the sky, relative to the horizon.
