Keep Holes Position during Beam Stretch

Maintain the position of holes on different linear elements, such as steel beams and columns, when you modify the length of the element.

This behavior is turned on by default and allows the holes on steel elements to keep their position unchanged when the length of the element is modified (using commands such as Lengthen, Stretch, Trim, Extend and others).

To disable this behavior, and have the holes change their position, keeping a constant distance from the nearest end of the element:
  1. In the Home tab Settings panel, click (Management Tools).
  2. In Defaults Beam General, uncheck the box next to "Keep holes position constant relative to attached parts during beam stretch".
Note: This default only affects the behavior of holes created using the (Switch Bolts/Anchors/Holes/Shear Studs) toggle. See Create Connection Object Patterns.
If you modify the length of a linear element with holes, the behavior of the holes is different, depending on the state of the "Keep holes position constant relative to attached parts during beam stretch" default:
