Calculate the Grip Length

Determine the grip length and, consequently, the length of the bolts in a bolt pattern by selecting the objects to connect.

This tool calculates the grip length and creates a logical connection between the objects.

The result is displayed graphically and the values are used by the bolt properties dialog box.

Access the command

On the Objects tab Connection objects panel, click (Calculate grip length).

Calculate the grip length

1. On the Objects tab Connection objects panel, click (Calculate grip length).
2. Select the bolts for which to calculate the grip length and press Enter.
3. Select the elements to connect and press Enter.

• The bolt length is adjusted.
