Depending on the size of the hole diameter, Advance Steel will define a hole as a hole (Block BO) or a circular cut (Block IK) in NC-DSTV files.
To control this issue, use the "Maximum holes diameter for NC" default from the Management Tools.
In our example, this default is set to 200, which means that if the size of the hole diameter is less than 200, the hole will be described in a BO Block (for holes), and if the hole diameter is exceeding 200 the hole will be described in a IK Block (for circular cut). As a result, for the beam having a hole diameter 40 on its web, you will get such NC-DStV file content:
