FAQ: How is the numbering by phase performed using various schemes?
Case A
Single parts from the first phase starting at 1000 and main parts from 100 with second phase single parts starting at 2000 and main parts from 200.
Case B
All single parts start at 1000 and main parts by phase starting with 100 for phase 1, 200 for phase 2, etc.
Case A
After creating the phases in the object properties, select the first phase (by using the Search Filter) and perform the numbering making sure to select proper start values for single part marks (e.g., 1000) and main part marks (e.g., 100).
Create the drawings for the first phase.
Select the second phase and perform the numbering but do not forget to change the start values for the single part marks (e.g., 2000) and for main part marks (e.g., 200).
Create the second phase drawings.
Follow the same procedure for all subsequent phases.
Case B
After creating the phases, perform the numbering only for all single parts by selecting Process single part in the Numbering dialog box. Create the drawings for the required single parts (e.g. plates, angles).
Select the parts from the first phase using the Search filter and start the numbering. Select Process assemblies and Start with the correct starting number for main parts in this phase (e.g., 100). Once numbered, drawings for the main parts from the first phase can be created.
Select the parts from the second phase using the same filter. Select objects and start the numbering. Select Process assemblies and Start with the correct starting number for main parts in this phase (e.g., 200). Once numbered, drawings for the main parts from the second phase can be created.
Follow the same procedure for all subsequent phases.
