Describes changes and new features in Dynamo Player and Dynamo for Alias.
Sample scripts additions
We've added new Dynamo Player sample scripts to the Dynamo Player directory in Alias. They include the following:
- DP-Points-on-Curves.dyn
- This script generates points along curves, curves on surfaces and edges of NURBS and/or subdivision surfaces. Two distribution modes let you generate points evenly along the curve or at specified fixed distances. - DP-Create-Filleted-Holes-and-Place-Objects.dyn
- This script creates filleted holes at point positions on a subdivision body or NURBS surface, and then places a selected object in the filleted hole. Use this script to quickly create screw or rivet patterns on the surface of your models. The DP-Points-on-Curves.dyn provides a convenient way to generate the point positions for your filleted holes. - DP-Import-CSV-file-as-Points.dyn
- This script reads comma separated value (.csv) files into Alias. If the .cvs file contains coordinate values, it can be used to generate point clouds or point lines in the scene. - DP-Multi-Surface-Patterning.dyn
- This script lets you transfer a pattern of points from a planar surface to any other surface, and then distribute a selected object at those point locations.
Improvements have also been made to the following Dynamo Player scripts:
- The DP-Nurbs-Tire.dyn script (
) now includes parameters to generate a tread pattern on the tire. After creating the tire, you can enable tread generation and control the physical characteristics of the tread, such as the number, size, and depth of the tread grooves. - After generating your spoke geometry with the DP-Rim-Support-and-Radial-Scaling.dyn script (
), new Create Rim Sectors and Create Symmetry Plane toggles let you reset the NURBS helper geometry so they no longer display in the scene. - The DP-Rotate.dyn script (
) now includes an Angle Coverage parameter, which lets you evenly distribute objects based on a rotational angle. For example, setting this value to 90 evenly distributes objects between 0 and 90 degrees.

New script icons
Each Dynamo Player script now has a custom icon, which makes them easier to identify in the Alias Shelf.
