AMSCREW2D (Command)

Inserts a screw or bolt from a standard content library.

Summary

Only the screws and bolts listed as standard content are available with this command. Use the AMCONTENTLIB command to access custom content.

A wizard enables you to select the type, the view, and the diameter of the screw/bolt to insert. In the front view, you drag to specify the length, and the length snaps to an available size. Use the Select a Screw dialog box to select the type of screw and view to insert. Depending on the selected view there are differences in the insertion process.

List of Prompts

The following prompts are displayed.

Front View/Side View

Insertion point
Specifies the location for the origin for the coordinates to use.
Rotation angle
Specifies how far to rotate the screw with respect to the insertion point.
Dialog
Displays the Nominal Diameter dialog box.
  • Select size - Selects the size.
  • Select length - Selects the size.
  • Drag size - Specifies the length of the screw. You can enter the length or specify a point in the drawing area. A tooltip displays the size of the screw as you drag.
