Resizes objects by stretching or shrinking a linear or symmetric dimension associated with the object.

Summary
You stretch or shrink a dimension by specifying a value for the dimension text. You must use the crossing window method to select the dimension and objects you want to strech/shrink.
Note:AutoCAD Mechanical toolset determines the positions of dimensions with defpoints (origins of the extension lines). These defpoints must be moved into the selection set when editing the dimension. Defpoints are placed on the special layer DEFPOINT, which cannot be plotted.
List of Prompts
The following prompts are displayed.
Linear
Resizes objects based on the difference of the value of a selected linear dimension and the value you type in.
Select dimension text
Specifies the dimension to stretch/shrink.
New dimension text
Specifies the value to stretch/shrink the dimension to.
First corner
Specifies the corner to stretch or shrink. Select the corner of the object and the origin of the extension line of the dimension using a crossing window selection box.
Select objects
Selects additional objects for stretching. Use the crossing object selection method and select one corner of the object. To remove an object from the selection set, SHIFT-click the object. Press ENTER when you finish selecting objects.
Note: Objects enclosed completely within the crossing window, or selected individually, or selected with window select, are moved rather than stretched.
Symmetric
Resizes objects based on the difference of the value of a selected dimension of symmetrical objects (shaft objects) and the value you type in.
Select dimension text
Specifies the dimension to stretch/shrink.
New dimension text
Specifies the value to stretch/shrink the dimension to.
Select Centerline
Specifies the line about which to stretch/shrink symmetrically.
First corner
Specifies the corner to stretch or shrink. Select the corner of the object and the origin of the extension line of the dimension using a crossing window selection box.
