Content Libraries Palette (AutoCAD Mechanical Toolset)

Content panel

Contains a list of standard and custom content.
 

Search

Provides the ability to search for standard or custom content by keyword. You can enter multiple keywords separated by spaces.

 

Starts the search, beginning from the item selected in the tree.

Note: If the item you are looking for is above the current selection, it will not be found.
 

Displays the Search Options dialog box, enabling you to specify how the search is performed.

 

Right-click menu items

   

Add to Favorites

Adds the selected content to the folder selected in the Favorites panel. This menu option is visible only if standard or custom content is selected in the Content panel. This menu option is available only if a target folder is selected in the Favorites Panel

Favorites panel

Contains a list of frequently used standard or custom content items which have been added as favorites. Like File Explorer, favorites can be shown as a list or as a tree. You can add new branches to the tree by creating Folders.

Toolbar Buttons

   

Adds the standard or custom content selected in the Content panel to the folder selected in the Favorites panel.

   

Creates a folder below the folder selected in the Favorites panel.

   

Selects the folder one level above the current selection.

   

Deletes the selected favorite or folder.

 

Columns displayed in the list view

   

Name

Displays an alias for the favorite. You can click in the column and change this name at any time.

   

Content Name

Shows the name of the standard or custom parts/features as defined in the library. If the column is not wide enough to show the entire name, a tooltip displays the entire name as you move the pointer over this column.

   

View

Displays the name of the view that has been specified for insertion. When you click in this column, AutoCAD Mechanical toolset displays a drop-down menu, from which you can select a different view, or specify that you will select the view at the time you insert the part in a drawing.

   

Size

Displays the size that has been specified for insertion. When you click in this column, AutoCAD Mechanical toolset displays a drop-down menu, from which you can opt to define a size on the favorite itself, or specify that you will select the size at the time you insert the part in a drawing. If you choose to define the size on the favorite, AutoCAD Mechanical toolset displays a dialog box, the contents of which depends on the standard or custom parts/features.

Details panel

Displays the preview thumbnails for the contents of the currently selected node.

   

Address Bar

Displays the path to the current selection in the Content panel as a series of links separated by arrows. You can change the current selection by selecting a new path from the menu that is displayed when you click an arrow within the address bar.

 

Right-click menu items

   

View Options

Displays the Options dialog box, which enables you to define the size of icons in the Details tab and specify how they should be displayed.

   

View Larger Image

Displays an enlarged image of the selected icon.
