Torsion Spring Dialog Box (AutoCAD Mechanical Toolset)

Use the Torsion Springs dialog box to specify which view and end configuration (tangential or bent) you want to use for the representation. You can derive the second view from an already drawn torsion spring (front view or side view). You can edit a drawn torsion spring with the existing spring option. After selecting the spring, the Representation dialog box opens, in which you can make modifications.

If a torsion spring is inserted in front view, the center point has to be determined first. The center point is identical to the center point of the rod. Subsequently, you are prompted for the support point of the fixed end. With this point, the length of the leg and the outer diameter of the spring are limited. The determination of the support point is the first limitation of the database selection. The third point to be determined is for the rotation direction of the torsion spring. If the side view is selected for the insertion of the torsion spring, the starting point and the direction of the torsion spring are to be specified.

Specify whether angles or loads are to be kept exactly. Also, specify whether the deflection is to be considered for the fixed leg or for the moveable leg.
