Replace Definition Dialog Box (AutoCAD Mechanical Toolset)

Use this dialog box to select the instances to modify and the definition it must be replaced with.

Component tab

Replace

Provides space for you to specify the component instances to replace.

Component definition

Displays a list of available definitions that you can choose from.

If the drawing contains external reference subassemblies, the list will show only the subassembly and not the components collected under it. To list the components, make a view of the subassembly the active edit target (by double-clicking it in the mechanical browser) before invoking the AMSREPLACEDEF command.

Temporarily hides the dialog box so you can pick an object from model space. Use this to select an instance of the definition you want to replace.

Component instances

Shows all instances of the selected component definition. Only the instances that are selected in this list will be replaced. To select non-contiguous rows, press CTRL, and click the instances. To select contiguous rows, click the first instance, and with the SHIFT key pressed, click the last instance. Alternatively, you can click the pick objects button next to the list and pick the instances to replace, from model space.
