About Configuring Radius, Diameter, and Chamfer Dimension Representations (AutoCAD Mechanical Toolset)

Dimensions styles control how diameter dimensions and radius dimensions appear. AutoCAD Mechanical toolset configurations dialog boxes contain only the options relevant to these dimension types, providing a quick way to change these settings. These dialog boxes automatically update the relevant dimension styles. Because these dialog boxes are easier to use than the corresponding dialog boxes for editing the dimension style directly, we recommend using AutoCAD Mechanical toolset’s radius Representation dialog box and Diameter Representation dialog box.

Chamfer representations, unlike radius and diameter dimensions, do not reflect the dimension style. They are in the drawing file. You can save them to a template (.dwt) for use as a default settings across an entire organization. The Chamfer representation dialog box enables you to select a default representation for chamfer dimensions from a graphical list of preset representations.
