Edit Dimension Style Dialog Box (AutoCAD Mechanical Toolset)

Use this dialog box to customize the base dimension style and its derivatives as applied to the different dimension types.

Dimension style

Shows a tree showing the base dimension style as the root and sub-styles as the leaves. Each sub-style controls the representation of the dimension type indicated by the name of the sub-style. The sub-styles have been derived from the base style and can be configured to customize the representation of one dimension type independently of the others.

Sub styles that are displayed in bold have at least one parameter that is different from the base dimension style. As you move the pointer over a sub-style, the tooltip shows the settings that have been customized.

If you change a setting in the base dimension style, the change is propagated to all sub-styles, unless the setting has been overridden in the sub-style.

Delete

Deletes dimension style overrides. This button is available only when an override is selected in the Dimension style list.

Reset

Removes overrides and synchronizes the selected dimension style with the base dimension style. If the dimension type corresponding to the selected dimension style requires mandatory overrides, they are automatically added.

Modify

Displays the Modify Dimension Style dialog box to let you change the setting for the selected dimension style.
