Import an entire CAiCE project into an Autodesk Civil 3D drawing. The PT4 file is a CAiCE project file that can contain any of the following data:
Survey Points
- Name
- Feature Codes
- Description
- Comments
- Control Point Name
- Tiff File Name
- Annotations
- Geometry Sheets
Survey Chains
- Name
- Feature Codes
- Text Chain Points
- Numeric Chain Reference List
- Description
- Comments
- Annotations
To import a CAiCE project database
- In Toolspace, on the Toolbox tab, expand Miscellaneous Utilities
CAiCE Translator. Double-click Import CAiCE Project (*.PT4).
- In the Import Other Formats dialog box, navigate to the CAiCE project folder. Select the desired file. Click Open.
- In the Import CAiCE Project dialog box, on the Points and Survey Chains page, specify the point types and survey chains to import.
- Click Next.
- On the DTM page, select the DTM surfaces to import, and then specify whether to import them as TIN faces or points and breaklines.
- Click Next.
- On the Geometry Chains page, select the geometry chains to import.
You can define geometry chains as Autodesk Civil 3D objects. Select a geometry chain, and then drag it into the appropriate collection.
- Click Next.
- On the Profiles page, you can rename, copy, or move a profile to another alignment. Select a profile, and then right-click to view a menu of options.
- Click Import.
The objects are imported into the drawing, and are displayed in Toolspace on the Prospector tab.
