Project AutoCAD or
Autodesk Civil 3D objects from plan view into a profile view.
You can project AutoCAD points, blocks, 3D solids, and 3D polylines; you can also project
Autodesk Civil 3D COGO points, feature lines, survey figures,
and
bridges that have been brought into
Civil 3D from
InfraWorks.
Click
Home tabProfile & Section Views panelProfile View drop-downProject Objects To Profile ViewFind.
Click one or more objects in the drawing that you want to project. Right-click or press Enter after all objects are selected.
Note:
To select a bridge to project, you only need to select one of the bridge components, such as a deck or pier.
Click the profile view in which you want the objects to appear.
In the
Project Objects to Profile View dialog box, verify the settings such as
Elevation Options and
Label Style, then click OK.
Note:
The Elevation Option and Elevation Value cannot be specified for bridges that have been brought into
Civil 3D from
InfraWorks.
If the elevation of one or more objects is outside of a manually specified profile view elevation range, a task dialog box is displayed. Click one of the following:
Do Not Add Objects Outside Of Limits: Does not add objects that are outside the range of the profile view.
Add All Objects: Adds all objects, regardless of their elevation. Some objects may not be visible in the profile view, but they are still associated with the profile view and are visible on the
Profile View Properties dialog box
Projections tab.
Note: You can make the object visible by changing the elevation property of the profile view. On the
Profile View Properties dialog box,
Elevations tab, change
User Specified Height to
Automatic Height.
