By default, the link operates automatically, transferring data back and forth as and when required. However, you may wish to work in manual mode whereby the ARCADY data in the HUD’s and in the Roundabout Report is updated only when the roundabout is resynchronized.
You may enter non-geometric data in ARCADY at any time. Values that are controlled by Autodesk Civil 3D 2022 are read-only, any others may be changed. To update the Autodesk Civil 3D 2022 display for changes made to ARCADY data you will need to synchronise the data by clicking the Refresh Data Link button in Autodesk Civil 3D 2022.
Important: Not all items that you can add in
Autodesk Civil 3D 2022 are passed to ARCADY. For example, you can add pedestrian crossings in
Autodesk Civil 3D 2022 but they are not sent to ARCADY. Likewise, although
Autodesk Civil 3D 2022 models mini-roundabouts, ARCADY does not yet process this data when sent from
Autodesk Civil 3D 2022.
To set manual updating
- Click the Home tab
Create Design panel Intersections drop down Configure Roundabout Tools.
- Select Arcady Link.
- Select Manually update results.
Tip: Close any dialogs in ARCADY that you don’t actually need open because the process of writing the data to them can slow the data transfer noticeably. This occurs even if the ARCADY dialogs are not visible or, indeed, minimized and is especially important if you have automatic updating enabled.
