5 axis Z-indexing enables you to index a part about the Z axis in 5-axis simultaneous documents, for example:

The tool moves in X and Y to cut the features. |
The part is rotated about the index axis to cut the features. |
To use Z-indexing:
- Ensure you are using a CNC file that supports 5-axis positioning, 5-axis simultaneous and Z-indexing.
- In the Stock Properties dialog, on the Indexing tab, select the Use Z indexing option to enable 5 Axis Z-indexing for the document.
- For each feature, deselect Cut feature using Y Axis coordinates on the Dimensions tab of the Feature Properties dialog to enable the part to rotate about the Z axis during cutting.
