Overrides tab

Click the tool preview image to pan and zoom it. The orientation of the preview is determined by the settings on the Options > View > Machine page. Right-click the image to access a context menu.

Name — Specifies the name of the current tool.

Note: To edit the Name of the tool, use the Insert/Type tab.

Only set Tool Post 1 — Select this option to set the tool registers for only one tool post.

Set all Tool Posts — Select this option to set the tool registers for each tool post of a multi tool post machine. Select an entry in the Tool Post and Spindle list to choose the turret you want to work with.

Note: The tool posts you can select are determined by the current post file.

Default tool registers — Specify the register settings for the tool:

Tool ID — Specifies the identification number of the tool. This is used by Bridgeport lathes and some Cincinnati machines.

Note: To override the register values for individual parts, use the Tool Mapping dialog.

Operations — Select an entry in the list to specify the type of operation for which FeatureCAM can select this tool. You can override this setting by selecting the tool manually.

Max. depth of cut — This is the maximum cut depth that is allowed for this tool.

Comments — Optionally enter comments associated with the tool. A post processor can be configured to output these comments.
