Rotate & Pan

Use the options in the Rotate and Pan menu to set a view mode:

Rotate — The view rotates around a point in the centre of the Graphics window.

Trackball — The view rotates in a way that simulates a physical trackball. The initial mouse-down position selects a point on a virtual sphere on the screen, and further mouse-motion moves that point on the surface of the virtual sphere.

Rotate X — Rotation of the view is restricted to the screen X axis.

Rotate Y — Rotation of the view is restricted to the screen Y axis.

Rotate Z — Rotation of the view is restricted to the screen Z axis.

Pan — Pan the view across the part when you move the cursor.

Pan and Zoom — Combines an initial pan (move) followed by zoom. The initial mouse-down position indicates a point in the view that will be moved to the center of the screen. Further mouse-motion zooms relative to this point.

To use a view mode:

  1. Select an option in the Rotate & Pan menu to enter the view mode.

The cursor shows the icon of the selected view mode.

  2. Click and drag in the graphics window to change the view.

    The view mode is canceled.
