Working with paste special

Use paste special to replicate or transfer objects or their attributes between FeatureCAM part files.

To paste an item into the document

1. Select an item and select Home tab > Clipboard panel > Copy to copy it to the clipboard.
2. Select Home tab > Clipboard panel > Paste > Paste Special.
3. Select Paste the clipboard contents into the current setup.
4. Click Finish.

If you paste into the same document that you copied from, the new copy is placed on top of the original.

To paste an item into the document and change the location

1. Select an item and select Home tab > Clipboard panel > Copy to copy it to the clipboard.
2. Select Home tab > Clipboard panel > Paste > Paste Special.
3. Select Paste the clipboard… Select a new location and click Next.
4. Use the wizard to set a reference location and location. The copied objects will be translated between the reference location and the new location.
5. Click Finish.

To copy machining attributes from a feature to another feature

1. Select an item and select Home tab > Clipboard panel > Copy to copy it to the clipboard.
2. Select Home tab > Clipboard panel > Paste > Paste Special.
3. Select Copy attributes from feature to another feature and click Next.
4. Select the attributes you want to copy to the new feature.
5. Select a feature you want to apply the attributes to.
6. Click Apply.
7. Click Finish.

Note: The Undo button is unavailable after using Copy attributes from feature to another feature.

To copy a feature into the document using a different profile curve

1. Select an item and select Home tab > Clipboard panel > Copy to copy it to the clipboard.
2. Select Home tab > Clipboard panel > Paste > Paste Special.
3. Select Paste the clipboard...using an existing curve and click Next.
4. Select a new profile curve for the feature.
5. Optionally use the wizard to reposition the feature before pasting.
6. Click Finish.
