Options > View > Machine

Use the Machine page to change the orientation of the principal views, ViewCube, and tool previews.

Milling — Select the machine type that is used in milling documents:

• Vertical — Tool previews show the tools in a vertical orientation.
• Horizontal — Tool previews show the tools in a horizontal orientation.

Turning — Select the machine type that is used in turning documents:

• Horizontal lathe, vertical X axis — Select this option to use the principal views for horizontal lathes that have a vertical X axis. For example, the top view shows the XZ plane with the Z axis horizontal on the screen.
• Horizontal lathe, vertical Y axis — Select this option to use the principal views for horizontal lathes that have a vertical Y axis. For example, the top view shows the YZ plane with the Z axis horizontal on the screen.
  Tip: To view the drawing plane for turning features when this option is selected, select View tab > Views panel > From > Front.
• Vertical lathe — Select this option to use the principal views for vertical lathes. For example, the top view shows the XY plane with the X axis horizontal on the screen.

Main spindle on right — Select this option to flip the direction of the Z axis in the principal views when using machines with the main spindle on the right.
