Importing IGES files

It is helpful to set the export settings of your CAD system for proper import.

If you are working with Pro/Engineer from Parametric Technology Corporation, set the following IGES import options:

Dimension entities from IGES files, such as labels, notes, and arrows are also imported. All other IGES entities are ignored.

Look in the status bar and the log file for feedback about the IGES file import. After importing a *.iges file, an alert displays The IGES file has been imported successfully or The file example.iges is corrupted and cannot be imported. A log file is created that details the IGES import process. The name of this file is specified in the File > Import Options page of the FeatureCAM Options dialog.
