To compute the stock dimensions automatically

For block stock, you can compute the stock dimensions from items in the document, such as geometry, features, and solids.

Note: This only changes the size of the stock. It does not affect the part programming origin.
  1. Right-click the stock in the Part View and select Properties.
  2. On the Dimensions tab of the Stock Properties dialog, select Block.
  3. Click Resize.
  4. In the Stock Dimensions page of the Resize wizard, select Compute stock size from the size of the part.
  5. Enter an extra stock size in the positive and negative direction for each axis to increase or decrease the computed stock dimensions. You can enter positive or negative values.
  6. Click Preview to preview the stock in the Graphics window.
  7. Click Next.
  8. If the document does not contain any features:
    • Select Move Geometry to resize the stock and move the geometry items within the stock boundary.
    • Select Move Stock to resize and move the stock without moving the geometry items.
  9. Click Finish.
