Model States and Factory

A powerful new workflow called Model States is added this release in Autodesk Inventor. Learn how Factory workflows function with Model States.

When publishing a part/assembly that contains multiple model states, Factory (FDU) assumes that all model states are of the same item. For example, if the main model is a square, FDU assumes that all model states are different interpretations of that square, not that one is a circle, and another is a triangle. Therefore must all have the same key parameters and the same key parameter values.

When using model states, the 2D representation used in AutoCAD may not always match the 3D representation. When publishing, the 2D representation reflects the active model state at publish time. While it is being updated to reflect parameter changes, it is always based on which model state was the active model state chosen to generate 2D asset at publish time and does not reflect the various model states.
