Calculate butt solder joints
  1. On the ribbon, click Environments tab Convert panel Butt Solder Calculator .
  2. In the Calculation tab, enter input parameters.
  3. Click Calculate to calculate the joint. Result values are displayed in the Results area on the right side of the Calculation tab.
  4. Click OK to insert butt solder calculation into ProdName.

This procedure creates an example using the sample specifications:
  1. Start the Butt Solder Joint Calculator.
  2. On the Calculation tab:
    • Set the Force to 2000 N.
    • Set the Part width to 30 mm.
    • Set the Part Thickness to 7.5 mm.
    • Select the Solder Material - Copper Solder.
    • Set the Tension Safety Factor to 4 ul.
  3. Click Calculate. See results in the Results area.
  4. Click OK.
