Design secure pins

Insert whole secure pin connection

  1. On the ribbon, click Design tab Fasten panel Secure Pin .
  2. On the Secure Pin Connection Generator, Design tab:
    • Select the type of hole in the Type box.
    • Select the type of placement using the selection list in the Placement section.
    • Specify the pin diameter.
    • Generator designs holes or adds hole or deletes anything.
    • Select the secure pin type from the Content Center.
      Note: You must be connected to the Content Center server and Content Center must be configured on your computers to be able to select secure pins.
  3. Click OK.
Note: On the Calculation tab, you can perform calculations and a strength check. The calculation is performed when you click Calculate.

Edit secure pin

  1. Open the ProdName assembly with the Design Accelerator secure pin already inserted.
  2. Select the secure pin, right-click to display the context menu and select Edit Using Design Accelerator.
  3. Edit the secure pin. You can change dimensions of the secure pin or change parameters for calculation. If you changed calculation values, click Calculate to see if strength check was OK. Calculation results are displayed in the Results area. The inputs that fail the calculation are displayed in red (their value does not correspond with other inserted values or calculation criteria). Reports of the calculation are displayed in the Summary of Messages area which is displayed after clicking the chevron in the right lower part of the Calculation and Design tabs.
  4. Click OK.

Calculate secure pin

  1. On the ribbon, click Design tab Fasten panel Secure Pin .
  2. On the Secure Pin Connection Generator, Design tab, select the secure pin from the Content Center. Click the arrow next to the edit field in the Items area. Select the standard and secure pin.
    Note: You must be connected to the Content Center server and Content Center must be configured on your computers to be able to select secure pins.
  3. Switch to the Calculation tab.
  4. Select the type of strength calculation.
  5. Enter the calculation values. You can change the values and units directly in the edit fields.
  6. Click Calculate to perform the calculation. Calculation results are displayed in the Results area. The inputs that fail the calculation are displayed in red (their value does not correspond with other inserted values or calculation criteria). Reports of the calculation are displayed in the Summary of Messages area which is displayed after clicking the chevron in the right lower part of the Calculation and Design tabs.
  7. if the calculation indicates design compliance, click OK.
