Camera Reference

Creates a new camera in the active document. Defines parameters for the graphic display of a camera.

To edit an existing camera, in the browser, right-click the camera node and click Edit. Alternatively, you can double-click the camera node and launch the edit dialog box.

Camera

Placement

Target With a click anywhere on the model, sets the target point , or with a click in space, sets the target on the view plane at the same view distance as the existing target. Displays a preview of the new camera target/direction when you move the mouse over a surface.

Position When you click a point along the camera direction line, sets the position of a camera at that point. Extends the direction line to the standard normal line distance if that distance is longer than the current camera distance.

Zoom

Specifies the zoom angle of the camera to define the horizontal field of view. The default is 45.0 in a range of 1.0 to 150.0 degrees.

Projection

Sets the view mode to orthographic camera mode or perspective camera mode .

Note: The Projection option cannot be animated, and is disabled in the animate camera operation.

Roll Angle

Specifies the angle of rotation around the direction axis of the camera. An angle of zero means the up direction of the camera corresponds as closely as possible to the +Y axis. The default is 0.0 in a range of -180.0 to 180.0 degrees.

With the check box selected, updates the active view to match the camera properties and hides the camera graphics

With the check box cleared, restores the camera graphics and the previous viewing parameters for the active view. The default is cleared.

Enable

When enabled, Studio calculates the depth of field effects when rendering the perspective view. The default setting is off or unchecked.

Focus Limits or f-Stop

Specifies the depth of field method to use and enables the appropriate controls. If the depth of field becomes imperceptible, near infinity, some controls are disabled until the settings are back within the range where depth of field is perceptible

Near

The Near parameter specifies the closest approximate distance from the camera where objects come into focus.

Far

The Far parameter specifies the approximate distance from the camera where objects begin to lose focus.

f-Stop

Sets the depth of field value. Decreasing the value narrows the depth of field; increasing the value broadens the depth of field.

Focus Plane

Sets the distance from the camera at which objects are in focus.

Link Focus plane to camera target

Sets the focus plane to be coincident with the camera target. When linked, wherever the camera target is placed or animated to, will be in focus.

Note: Settings for depth of field do not affect the normal graphics appearance. The settings are applied at rendering time.
