- On the ribbon, click Environments tab Convert panel Butt Weld Calculator .
- On the Calculation tab, click More Options and select the calculation method.
- Enter input parameters.
- If desired, switch to the Fatigue Calculation tab to enter values for fatigue calculation.
- Click Calculate to calculate the joint. Result values are displayed in the Results area on the right side of the Calculation tab.
- Click OK to insert weld calculation into ProdName.

This procedure creates an example using the sample specifications:

- Start the Butt Weld Calculator:
- On the Calculation tab:
- Set the Standard Calculation procedure Method from the Calculation of Statically Loaded Weld area.
- Click the Enables/disables fatigue calculation icon.
- Select the Weld Design: .
- Click the first icon in the Weld Loads area to specify input loads.
- Set the Axial Force to 2000 N.
- Measure the Tube outer diameter from assembly - 10 mm.
- Select the Weld Material - Structural Steel A572-Grade42.
- Set the Safety Factor to 2.5.
- Click Calculate. See the results in the Results area.
- Click OK.
