Edit blocks in drawings

You can edit the position, size, and attributes of block instances. You cannot edit the block definition in Inventor. Open the drawing in AutoCAD to modify the block definition.

  1. To edit block attributes, select a block, right-click, and click Edit AutoCAD Block. Then modify the attribute values in the AutoCAD Blocks dialog box.
  2. To modify block properties, select a block, right-click, and click Properties. Then change Line Type, Line Weight, Color, and Scale.
  3. To move, rotate, or resize a block, select a block in the graphics window to show its grip points.
Note: For static blocks, only the green grip point is displayed. Clear the Static option in the AutoCAD Blocks dialog box to display all grip points.
  4. Click a grip point, and do one:
    • Drag the green point to move the block to the appropriate location.
    • Drag the blue point to rotate the block.
    • Drag a yellow point to set size for the block.
