Single body parts

The most basic part type can vary greatly in complexity from just a few features to a complex design. The distinguishing features are that it is composed of one material and one solid body, of which the thickness can vary.

A single body part contains one solid body that shares a collection of one or more features. A single body part defines a single item in a parts list.

Use Shape Generator to create lightweight, structurally efficient reference shapes. Start with your basic part envelope and then define the Shape Generator Study parameters (materials, constraints, forces, and mass reduction) and generate a mesh that represents a recommended part shape. Use the recommended shape to modify your original part. Next, you can run simulations with the Stress Analysis tools and validate or further refine your design.
