To work with Sprue Bushings

Create a sprue bushing by using the linear method

  1. In the Mold Assembly tab, click Sprue Bushing.
  2. In the Sprue Bushing dialog box, select a sprue bushing type from the drop-down list.
  3. In Placement, select Linear.
  4. In the table under the component image, modify the parameters.
  5. Click Reference 1 and then in the graphics window, select a reference edge. Click Flip Side to reverse the direction of the reference.
  6. Click Reference 2 and then in the graphics window, select a second reference edge. Click Flip Side to reverse the direction of the reference.
  7. To position the component in the graphics window, click a dimension line and then in the Edit box, enter a value.
  8. In Offset, enter a value to move the bushing along the Z axis.
  9. Click OK.

Create a sprue bushing from a runner sketch

  1. On the Mold Assembly tab, click Sprue Bushing.
  2. In the Sprue Bushing dialog box, select a sprue bushing type in the drop-down list.
  3. In Placement, select From Runner Sketch.
  4. In the table, under the component image, modify the parameters.
  5. Click Point and then in the graphics window, select a point on a runner sketch.
  6. In Ratio, set the distance along the runner sketch. Not available if you select a sketch point or end point.
  7. In Offset, enter a value to move the bushing along the Z axis.
  8. Click OK.

Edit a sprue bushing

  1. In the Mold Design browser, right-click the Sprue Bushing node, and then click Edit Feature.
  2. In the Sprue Bushing dialog box, modify the settings.
  3. Click OK.
