  1. On the ribbon, click Design tab Power Transmission panel Separated Hub Calculator .
  2. In the Calculation tab, enter calculation parameters.
  3. Click Calculate to perform the calculation. Results are displayed in the Results area.
  4. If the calculation results are satisfactory, click OK to insert separated hub joint calculation to the ProdName Assembly.

This procedure creates an example using the sample specifications.

Sample Data:

  1. Start the Separated Hub Joint Calculator.
  2. On the Calculation tab:
    • In the Type of Strength Calculation, select Check Calculation.
    • In the Load area, enter Torque = 40.
    • In the Dimensions area, enter Shaft Diameter = 1.
    • In the Joint Properties area, click the button next to the Material edit field, and select the material and type of loading from the database. Enter Clamping Factor = 0.08.
    • In the Bolt Properties area, enter Number of Joint Bolts = 4.
  3. Click Calculate to perform a separated hub joint strength check. The optimum hub length is based on minimum hub length, joint strength, pressure values, and axial force in bolts.
  4. Click OK to insert separated hub joint calculation to the ProdName Assembly.
