Use the Material database to select a part material or add, edit, or remove the selected material data. Double-click the edit field to change or enter values.
Use the first edit field as a filter. According to the specified criteria the list of materials is displayed. For example, if you write "steel" in the Material edit field, only steel materials are displayed. A check box displays next to the filter edit field. Clear the check box to cancel filter selecting and display complete list of materials.
- Access
- On the ribbon, click the Design tab. On the Design tab, open any generator or calculator, and on the Calculation tab, check the box next to the Material edit field.
Note: Material database is not connected to Autodesk Inventor Material Library.
The data from material database are stored in the XML format in ...Design Data\Design Accelerator\Tables\Materials folder.
- Add Material
- Adds new material into the Material Database.
- Add new material based on existing
- Creates a copy of selected material.
- Remove Material
- Removes selected material from Material Database.
- Reverts all changes
- Resets the material data to the default values.
- Show/hide additional columns
- Available only for some generators (for example, Spur Gears). Click to show all material parameters, not only parameters necessary for calculation. When you add new material, fill values into all columns.
