Use the Library Transfer Guide to move Content Center libraries between the local storage and library server.
Important: Libraries can only be transferred between matching releases. For example, an Inventor [release number] Desktop Content library can only be transferred to or from a matching release partitioned library on a Vault server.
- Click File
Manage Projects.
- On the Projects dialog box, click Configure Content Center Libraries.
- On the Configure Libraries dialog box, click Library Transfer Guide.
- On the first panel:
- To transfer a library from the server to the Desktop Content folder, select From Autodesk Vault Server to Inventor Desktop Content.
- To transfer a library from the Desktop Content folder to the server, select From Inventor Desktop Content to Autodesk Vault Server.
- Click Next.
- On the second panel, specify the server login information, and then click Next.
To copy the User Name and Password from the Windows settings, select Use Windows Authentication. Available only for the Productstream server.
- On the third panel, review the list of user libraries available on the server. Select libraries to transfer, and then click Next.
- Selected libraries are transferred and a Summary panel is displayed.
Click the Log file hyperlink to review the Log file.
- Click Close to close the Library Transfer Guide dialog box.
Notes:
- The transfer process does not change the original libraries.
- Desktop Content libraries can be transferred only to the same version of the Autodesk Vault server.
- The transfer software supports the current version and three previous versions.
- The transferred library must be unique in the destination storage. If a copy of the same library exists in the destination, the library is duplicate and cannot be transferred.
- Transferred libraries are not automatically added to the configuration.
