Calculate step tube solder joints
  1. On the ribbon, click Environments tab Convert panel Step Tube Solder Calculator .
  2. In the Calculation tab, enter input parameters.
  3. Click Calculate to calculate the joint. Result values are displayed in the Results area on the right side of the Calculation tab.
  4. Click OK to insert solder calculation into ProdName.

This procedure creates an example using the sample specifications:
  1. Start the Step Tube Solder Joint Calculator.
  2. On the Calculation tab:
    • Select the Joint Design as a Type of Strength calculation.
    • Set the Force to 2000 N.
    • Set the Inside Tube diameter to 40 mm.
    • Set the Inside Tube Thickness to 7.5 mm.
    • Set the Outside Tube Thickness to 7.5 mm.
    • Select the Solder Material - Copper Solder.
    • Set the Shear Safety Factor to 3 ul.
    • Select the Basic Material - Cast Steel.
  3. Click Calculate. See results in the Results area.
  4. Click OK.
