ETO creates and/or uses the following file types:
-
IKS - Source file for Designs, Rules, and Functions. Human-readable.
-
IKM - Source file for Models. Record of dynamic rules created during modeling of specific instances. Human-readable.
-
IKB - Binary version of IKS files. Allows protection of intellectual property of Designs, Rules, and Functions. Source is stripped, but allows everything to function. Also is a more compact version of IKS files, and many IKS files can be built into a single IKB, allowing the IKB to be a distributed form of a library.
-
IKP - Obsolete. Formerly held "project" information, but was essentially a variant of IKM.
Note: While binary, IKB is not secure in any way, and can be de-compiled. However, the source is still not available.
