To Use Excel Filters

To use Excel to include fixed lists in the filter

  1. Create an Excel spreadsheet with the required values.

    For example, create a spreadsheet with the column NAME that contains selected manhole names.

  2. Select the column in Excel.
    Note:

    In the Excel table, the first selected column must be the column heading.

  3. In the Maintenance workspace in AutoCAD Map 3D toolset, open an industry model drawing or an enterprise industry model project.
  4. In the feature class form, right-click and click Filter > Excel.

To update data using Microsoft Excel

  1. Open a project.
  2. Open the Excel spreadsheet containing the data.
  3. In Excel, mark the key column headings to use in the WHERE clause with the pound sign (#).
  4. In the Maintenance workspace in AutoCAD Map 3D toolset, open an industry model drawing or an enterprise industry model project.
  5. In the Industry Model explorer, select the feature class to update.
  6. Right-click the feature class and click Show Form.
  7. On the Feature Class Form Toolbar, click Tools.
  8. Click Import > Excel Update (Direct).
