Use the Coordinate System Library to view coordinate systems, datums, ellipsoids, geodetic transformations and geodetic transformation paths.
To filter the Coordinate System Library
View any combination of projected, geographic, or arbitrary coordinate systems, datums, ellipsoids, geodetic transformation paths, or geodetic transformations.
Enter a search term to filter the list (for example a country or region). Enter characters contained in the code, description, or category name you want. For example, enter "can" to highlight Canada, Cancun, and Cape Canaveral.
Status: View all items or only those that are current (DI), outdated (DE) or user-defined (UD).
Code Type: View all coordinate systems or only Autodesk or EPSG systems.
Category: View all categories, or select a particular collection of coordinate systems to narrow your search, such as lat/long, a country or regional category, or one of the UTM categories.
Unit: View items in all units of measurement, or only those that use a particular unit of measurement.
The columns in the table include the following:
Status: Up to date; Out of date; User defined
Code and Description: The default name of the item and a brief description.
Definition Type: One of the following:
Referenced To: The name of the datum or ellipsoid to which the item is referenced. Where more than one datum is referenced (for example, target and source datum), each datum is on a separate line. For arbitrary coordinate systems, ellipsoids, and geodetic paths (which are not referenced), the field will be blank.
Category: Available for coordinate systems only. You cannot edit or view the details for categories. You can remove them using Remove.
EPSG Code: Not all items have EPSG codes. If no code is assigned to an item, the field will be blank.
Unit: Unit of measurement. Datums and ellipsoids have no associated unit of measurement.
To view the details for any item in the Search/Filter Results table
To assign an item as the coordinate system for the current drawing
To edit a user-defined item in the Search/Filter Results table
You can edit only user-defined items. To edit the items supplied with the application, duplicate them first.
To delete a user-defined item in the Search/Filter Results table
You can delete only user-defined items. If the item is shared (referenced by another item), delete the referencing item first. (For example, you cannot delete a datum that is referenced by a coordinate system.)
