Hyperlinks provide a simple and powerful way to quickly associate a variety of documents (such as other drawings, bills of materials, or project schedules) with a drawing. You can also apply hyperlinks to feature layers.
To create a hyperlink to a web site
- At the command prompt, enter hyperlink.
- Select features in the drawing and press Enter when done.
The Insert Hyperlink dialog box is displayed.

Do one of the following:
- Under Type the File or Web Page Name, enter the path and name of the website you want to associate with the hyperlink.
- Click the Web Page button. Navigate to the location of the file that you want to associate with the hyperlink. Click Open.
- Click OK.
To set up a hyperlink from the Properties Palette
- Right-click a feature in the drawing and select Properties from the menu.
- In the Hyperlink section, click in the Web Address field and select Insert Hyperlink from the list.
The Insert Hyperlink dialog box is displayed.

Do one of the following:
- Under Type the File or Web Page Name, enter the path and name of the website you want to associate with the hyperlink.
- Click the Web Page button. Navigate to the location of the file that you want to associate with the hyperlink. Click Open.
- Click OK.
- Click the field next to Display Text and select Insert Hyperlink.

Do one of the following:
- Select a property from the list to display as descriptive text for the web address.
- Create an expression that gets displayed with the web address.
- Insert another hyperlink.
