Alembic Cache submenu

Open Alembic
Opens an Alembic file in a new Maya scene.
See Create Alembic caches.
Reference Alembic
Imports the contents of a scene, including objects, animation, and shaders, into your currently open scene without importing the files into the scene. The contents that appear in your scene are read or referenced from pre-existing files that remain separate and unopened. You can create a file reference from a Maya (.ma, mb) scene file or an Alembic cache.

Select Cache > Alembic Cache > Reference Alembic > to set Reference Options.

Import Alembic
Loads Alembic cache files into the scene.
Select Cache > Alembic Cache > Import Alembic > to open the Alembic Import Options.
Replace Alembic

Replaces the selected polygon and NURBS object(s) with the Alembic-based object(s) contained in the selected Alembic file. Only one instance of each Alembic-based object is imported, even when multiple objects are selected in the scene.

Export All to Alembic and Export Selection to Alembic
Exports either all objects or selected polygon and NURBS objects to an Alembic cache file. By default, Alembic cache files are saved in the cache\alembic folder of the current Maya project.

Select Cache > Alembic Cache > Export All/Selection to Alembic > to open the Alembic Export Options.
