Use Flip Tube Direction to switch the direction of the current brush between Along Path (often best for canvas painting of plants) and Along Normal (often best for scene painting of plants). The difference between the two tube directions varies according to brush type and settings, so experimentation is worthwhile.

To flip the tube direction
- Do one of the following:
- On the
Paint Effects panel toolbar, click the
Flip Tube Direction button
.
- In the Modeling menu set, select .
- On the
Paint Effects panel toolbar, click the
Flip Tube Direction button
Note: The
Canvas section of the
Paint Effects Globals window () has a
Force Tube Direction to be Along Path checkbox. If selected, it causes brushes with tubes whose elevationMin is greater than 0.5 to be drawn along the path rather than along the normal in
Canvas mode. This has the effect of making plant brushes draw in the expected direction when painting in the canvas.
