Modify curves in Create VR

In this video, discover how to work with CVs, and how to slice and join curves.

Note:

This video was recorded using an older version of Create VR. When using a newer software release, you may notice differences in functionality and user interface.

Move CVs

  1. Select the Move CV tool .

  2. Hover the stylus over the CV.

  3. Hold the trigger button and drag the CV.

    Note:

    CVs snap to the X,Y, or Z direction vector when you move them along the direction indicator. Once snapped, the CVs follow the direction vector, which displays as a red (for X), blue (for Y), or green (for Z) dashed-line as you move them. CVs not snapped to a direction vector display a white dashed-line when moved.

  4. Release the trigger to complete.

Add CVs

  1. Select the Add CV tool .
  2. Place the stylus on the curve where you want to add the CV and press the trigger.
  3. You can hold trigger before placing CV and move your hand to adjust the placement.

Delete CVs

  1. Select the Remove CV tool .
  2. Place the stylus on the CV and press the trigger.

Slice a curve into two segments

  1. Select the Slice Curve tool .
  2. Position the stylus where you want to split the curve and pull the trigger. Prior to cutting, you can hold the trigger while adjust the location of the cut.

Join two curves

  1. Select the Join Curve tool .
  2. Hover and pull trigger on one end point drag to the second end point.
  3. Release trigger to complete.

Extrude a sub-d from a curve

You can use the Extrude Sub-d tool to extrude a sub-d patch from a curve.

  1. From the Sub-d tools, select the Extrude tool .
  2. Hover the tool sphere over the curve until a curvy-line displays.
  3. Pull the trigger, drag, and then release to complete.

Continue to shape the sub-d patch by extruding its boundary edges (see Extrude patch boundary edge) or use the other sub-d modeling tools (see Modify sub-d objects).
