Simulation Menu

Use this menu for access to the following common commands:

• New, to create a new simulation
• Open a saved TIVUS file for running a simulation.
• Save a project TIVUS file.
• Import a 3D CAD file to use as a basis for a simulation.
• Import a result file, such as a .thermal.case file, from a saved simulation.
• Export thermal and mechanical input files to solve from the command line or using a batch file.
• Review and modify Simulation Utility settings.

To create a new simulation

1. Select New. The following dialog appears.
   
2. Click the type of simulation you are preparing, Powder Bed Fusion or Directed Energy Deposition (DED), then click Create Simulation.
   Note: If you are running Simulation Utility LT, the DED option is not available.
   Depending on the simulation type chosen, a standard Windows Open dialog will require the importation of a model file:
   1. Powder Bed Fusion - import an STL file or any of 14 other supported file types.
   2. DED - import a Laser Vector (LSR) file
