Use this menu for access to the following common commands:
- New, to create a new simulation
- Open a saved TIVUS file for running a simulation.
- Save a project TIVUS file.
- Import a 3D CAD file to use as a basis for a simulation.
- Import a result file, such as a
.thermal.case file, from a saved simulation.
- Export thermal and mechanical input files to solve from the command line or using a batch file.
- Review and modify
Simulation Utility settings.
To create a new simulation
- Select New. The following dialog appears.
- Click the type of simulation you are preparing, Powder Bed Fusion or Directed Energy Deposition (DED), then click Create Simulation.
Note: If you are running
Simulation Utility LT, the DED option is not available.
Depending on the simulation type chosen, a standard Windows Open dialog will require the importation of a model file:
- Powder Bed Fusion - import an STL file or any of
14 other supported file types.
- DED - import a
Laser Vector (LSR) file
