To Move Faces

  1. Click Select.
  2. Select the face(s) to be moved. Use the Ctrl or Shift keys to select multiple faces.
  3. Use one of the following methods to move the selected face(s).
    • Click and drag the face. Make sure the Drag and Drop check box is enabled.
    • Click the six arrow buttons on the Face tab to move the face up, down, left, right, front, or back a distance of one grid line.

When you move a face, all nodes attached to the face are moved with it. Consequently, all other elements connected to those nodes are moved, and their geometry and direction can be changed.

If the Enforce Cell Size check box is enabled, you cannot move faces out the cell. If it is disabled, faces can be moved outwards and overlapping structure cells can be constructed. Whenever you enable or disable this check box, it is switched accordingly for all other tabs.
